If you follow me on Instagram, you would have known that today we spent the day in Melbourne CBD going out for lunch, and stopped to take these photos along the way in Southbank. Even though it was raining off and on and was slightly cold, I couldn’t resist throwing on a pair of shorts, crop top and wedges. I guess I just wanted to pretend that it is summer here for a few minutes. A girl can dream!

I really don’t know what everyone in Melbourne is complaining about. After living in America and visiting places like New York in the midst of winter, I have come to the conclusion that our winters are not cold in the slightest! On the weekend we found ourselves out in the sunshine in jeans and t-shirts. Pretty good for the start of winter, I say!

I’ve worn these Aldo heels on my blog a few times (here) and really love how versatile they are, especially with these boyfriend jeans by Mango. I had been looking for the perfect boyfriend jean for a while (not too slouchy, not too ripped) until I found these online and thought that they were such a bargain ($57!), and was so happy when they arrived as they are not only the comfiest pair of jeans I own, but also the best fit!

Going through these photos of our day out in the Yarra Valley winery region is making me two things: very hungry (just look at the cheese board) and very, very thirsty (look at all of those glasses of wine).

After living in the United States and tasting all of the wonderful wines that come out of California, Washington State etc, I was beginning to forget how good Australian wines really were, especially ones from the Yarra Valley. But as soon as we had our first tastings at Sutherland Estate I was reminded why this region is one of the best in the world: the wines are amazing and the scenery is just as perfect.

About a 45 minute drive from Melbourne CBD, the Yarra Valley is a cool climate region (it’s hardly cold, but cold-ish for Australia!) and boasts over 70 different vineyards and wineries… that’s a lot of wine.

We visited four wineries: Sutherland Estate (amazing view & great range of wines), Shantell Vineyards (gorgeous winery, the restaurant looks amazing), Mandala (they’ve named one of their wines “Black Lab” after a late black labrador = cute!) & Sticks Wineries (oh.. the buttery, oaky Chardonnay (2010 No. 29) and the cheese platter… need I say more). It was the perfect way to spend some time with my sister (pictured with me below) after being apart for almost a year.

The past two days I have spent running around Melbourne for some meetings (hopefully good news coming soon!). I’ve never really had the chance to wear much corporate stuff as I have never had a job that requires it, but I really love the fashion and feel like you can do so much with your outfits to make them more business-like. I must admit I really enjoyed feeling like a business woman for the past 2 days… hopefully it will continue!

I’m kind of obsessed with these ASOS Peg Leg pants and feel like they are such a good twist on the plain old boring black work pants due to the shape of the legs and their high waist. ASOS has such an amazing range of really affordable work attire with pants as low as $30… it’s hard to look and shop anywhere else!

If you follow me on my Instagram account you would have seen that I spent yesterday in the Yarra Valley region exploring some of the amazing wineries and vineyards with my sister. I think being away for so long makes you really appreciate where you grew up and coming back and having this 20 mins from my house made me appreciate it just a little bit more.
